As a kid from Scotland, I always knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I was going to be the new right winger for Glasgow Celtic FC – the natural heir to the likes of wee Jinky Johnstone & Henrik Larsson. By the age of 12, I was living in Cyprus and was well on my way, playing for the youth academy of a local team when, unfortunately for me, I tore a ligament in my knee. That, along with a horrendous first touch, ended any hopes of putting on the green & white hoops professionally!

I needed a life plan, and for a long time one alluded me. It wasn’t until after university, working in a sales role in Newcastle that I realised I genuinely enjoyed running accounts and working closely with clients, uncovering what made them and their brand tick and how to best help them bring their vision to fruition. I knew at that point that I wanted to be an account manager, and my next challenge was finding an industry I was genuinely passionate about. Enter Digital Marketing.

After reading into channels such as SEO & PPC, I knew that working in digital marketing was something I really wanted to do, and that the industry was only going to get bigger & better in the years to come. So I joined a Leeds based agency as an Account Executive, and soon progressed to Account Manager. From there I’ve never looked back! I’ve run accounts across a wide range of industries with a multitude of marketing channels, and learnt something new from every single account I’ve worked on.

From creative through to technical, digital marketing’s constant changes keep you on your toes and force you to try your best. That being said, my main drive comes from people – I like to work as part of a close team internally and help various channel experts & strategists turn their channel strategies into one, cohesive account strategy which achives our clients’ goals and business objectives. I also like to work very closely with my clients and essentially become an extension of their marketing team and understand their industry as much as I can.

I was attracted to Zeal for a multitude of reasons, from their ambition and their creative output through to their technical knowledge, I knew it was a team I wanted to be a part of, so I am genuinely made up to be here. My favourite thing about working here so far is definitely the culture. The people are friendly, driven & tenacious and I really admire that. I definitely feel right at home.
